1.         Guns, non-shooters and guests attending Stubbs Hall Game Days do so at their own risk. Stubbs Hall Game Days take no responsibility for damage or injury caused by falling birds, lead, foliage shot or any other debris, to their person, vehicle or property.

2.         We try to keep the ground and all peg locations free of debris and obstacles, however as it is a countryside pursuit this cannot always be guaranteed, especially on wet or frozen ground. As such appropriate clothing and supporting footwear is recommended and highly encouraged. Consideration should also be given to a stick to help provide extra balance and support.

GUN SAFETY

3.    Gun safety is of upmost importance in the shooting field.

a.    Only aimed shots are to be fired
b.    Only shots with clear sky behind the bird are to be made (if in doubt do not shoot)
c.    Shoot only at birds you are comfortable with
d.    Please respect the neighbouring Pegs birds

If any person is deemed as being unsafe, or conducting unsafe activities, they will be asked to leave the premises immediately without any recompence.

4.    Guns should be unloaded and carried in a secure gun sleeve when not on the pegs. When you take the gun out of the sleeve, check to make sure the barrel is clear of any obstructions, particularly in wet or snowy weather.

5.    Guns should only be closed when on a Peg.  Once the gun is closed, it should either be pointed at the ground or up into the air. It must always be facing forward of the gun line. If you wish to rest your gun over your arm, it must be broken.

6.    When you are at your Peg, make sure you have full awareness of the other Peg locations, as well where the direction of flank locations for the picking up team. 10.       You are encouraged to bring your own dog for picking up, but no picking up is to occur during a drive. The picking up team will ensure any birds which require to be dispatched quickly are dealt with during a drive. The picking up team will be counting birds down, but if you wish for your dog to pick up, please liaise with the picking up team who will be more than happy to oblige. There will be plenty of time at the end of drives for picking up.

11.       If your dog is not able to sit at the peg throughout the drive please ensure it is securely pegged to prevent any running in.

12.       There are no public footpaths which cross the land for Stubbs Hall, however if any person is noticed outside of the Shoot staff and party, all movement of beaters will cease as well as shooting until the individual(s) are in a safe location. If present, all guns are to cease shooting, unload their gun and place within their gun sleeve. Any dogs must be secured as appropriate. You will be asked to return to your vehicles or gun trailer where ever possible and remain there while the situation is sorted out appropriately. Please refrain from becoming involved in an communication, confrontation or activity with protestors, and remain calm and polite if necessary.
